DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - MONDAY, JULY 28

*Indiana Jones star Shia LaBeouf was busted for D.U.I. following a car crash early Sunday in Los Angeles. Shia was injured and underwent extensive surgery on his left hand. It's really a shame--his career is hot right now and he's blowing it!

*The Dark Knight broke more box office records, taking in another $75 million over the weekend and racing past $300 million in a record 10 days. At this rate, The Dark Knight could beat Titanic to become the biggest grossing film of all time. I finally got a chance to see the movie this past weekend and I must admit that it didn't live up to all of the hype for me. I thought it was a good movie--NOT the best superhero movie of all time. In my opinion, Iron Man was a much better movie. The late Heath Ledger's scary performance of the Joker stole the movie--it really was creepy and showcased what a great actor Heath was.

*The Reverend Al Sharpton got an offer to be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars, but he declined because he wants to focus on the November election. Note to Al: YOU are not running for President....

*Batman arrrested! Christian Bale was briefly taken into police custody following assault allegations made by his mother and sister. They accused him of lashing out at them in a London hotel. Christian was released and denied the allegations. Stay tuned for new developments.....

*Anne Hathaway sang karaoke in Cape May. Anne belted out a couple of songs with family and friends at the Martini Beach Restaurant on Monday night.

*Heather Locklear is back home after successfully completing four weeks of treatment for anxiety and depression. A close friend said "Heather's feeling really great."

*Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Fergie, Rihanna, Kid Rock and Mariah Carey are among the artists set to perform at the 5th annual Fashion Rocks concert on September 5 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

*Nicole Kidman gave birth to her daughter, Sunday Rose 2 weeks ago and she's slim already! Nicole made a Starbucks run in Nashville the other day in white capri pants and a midriff-baring top and you can't even tell she just had a baby!

*Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have settled their custody battle, avoiding a messy trial. K-Fed gets sole custody of their two sons and Britney gets visitation rights.

*The new Batman movie, The Dark Knight is now in theaters. People Magazine's review says it's the best superhero movie of all time. That's a bold statement! I'll have to see for myself if it beats Iron Man.

*Other new movies: Mama Mia and Space Chimps

*Despite the rumors, Katherine Heigl is not leaving Grey's Anatomy and the president of ABC Entertainment said she's getting a juicy storyline for the new season.

*Jessica Alba said she named her baby daughter Honor because she wanted her to have an unusual name. Jessica said it irritated her that there were so many Jessicas in her school.

*Last night it was the world premiere of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight" in New York City. The late Heath Ledger, who plays The Joker, was on the minds of everyone. Oscar talk for Heath in this role is heating up. "The Dark Knight" opens in theaters Friday, including the IMAX Theater at Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City.

*You may have been wondering how Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie came up with the names of their newborn twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. Knox is Brad's grandfather's middle name and Leon is the name of Angelina's great great grandfather. The spelling of Vivienne reflects Angelina's French heritage and Marcheline was Angelina's mom's name. The bidding war continues for the first photos of the twins. People Magazine seems to have the upper hand, but OK! Magazine reportedly offered $20 million! All of the money goes to charity. I have a feeling that Brangelina will choose People because that's the magazine in which the first photos of their daughter Shiloh were published.

*Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and comedian Sarah Silverman split up after 5 years of dating. I was surprised to hear about this because they seemed so happy together. Maybe she really was ****ing Matt Damon....only kidding.....

*My TV pick for tonight: the new series "Rock The Reception" at 8:30PM on TLC. It's a twist on a married couple's first traditional dance. The bride and groom and their wedding party learn choreographed dance routines and surprise their guests at the reception.

*The Brangelina twins have arrived! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt welcomed a son, Knox Leon and a daughter, Vivienne Marcheline Saturday night in Nice, France. Angelina and Brad now have 6 kids--3 girls and 3 boys! Babies and mommy are doing fine.

*Hellboy 2: The Golden Army topped the weekend box office, taking in almost $36 million. Hancock fell to #2, followed by Journey to the Center of the Earth.

*There's another Miley Cyrus photo scandal. This time pictures on the internet show Miley in the shower wearing a wet t-shirt.

*Bon Jovi has made the most money on tour in North America so far this year ($56.3 million,) followed by Bruce Springsteen & the E Stree Band ($40.8 million.)

*A surprise settlement was reached in Christie Brinkley's bitter divorce trial. Christie has to pay her estranged hubby, Peter Cook $2.1 million but she gets full custody of their two kids.

*The French hospital in which Angelina Jolie is awaiting the birth of her twins coated the windows of her room with a special material to prevent prying cameras. Photos claiming to show Angelina in the hospital are fake.

*Former 'N Sync member Lance Bass will reportedly join the 7th season of Dancing With the Stars. In what would be a first for the show, the openly gay Lance may be paired with a male professional dancer.

*New movies in theaters today: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3-D and the sci-fi comedy Meet Dave starring Eddie Murphy.

*Happy 49th Birthday to Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. FYI: Richie auditioned for the band Kiss before landing his gig with Bon Jovi.

*Will there be a "Friends" movie? With the big success of the "Sex and the City" movie, there has been talk about reuniting the gang on the big screen. However, Warner Brothers Studios said there is no movie planned. I guess we'll have to keep watching the reruns...

*Matthew McConaughey's baby boy, Levi is only a few days old but he's already bringing in big bucks. OK! Magazine shelled out $3 million for the first photos of Levi and they have the rights to the photos from baby's first Christmas. Meanwhile, the bidding for the first photo of the Brangelina twins is up to $16 million!

*Jennifer Lopez closed her restaurant, Madre's in Pasadena, California after 6 years. Sources say Jen is focusing on motherhood.

*Jordin Sparks and Jesse McCartney are co-headlining a tour and they'll make a stop in Atlantic City at the Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall on August 22

*Baby news: Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban welcomed a baby girl yesterday morning in Nashville. See what you think about the baby's name: Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. Hmm...it might grow on me. Matthew McConaughey is a new dad. He and girlfriend Camila Alves are the proud parents of a baby boy, born last night. No word yet on the baby's name but I'll keep you posted. Congrats to the new parents!

*Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce yesterday from Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, claiming he was unfaithful and abandoned his wife and children. Cynthia's attorney said A-Rod's relationship with Madonna was "an affair of the heart" and not a sexual relationship.

*A shocking ending (in my opinion) last night on the season finale of The Bachelorette. DeAnna Pappas chose professional snowboarder Jesse over sensitive single dad Jason. Jesse was the last guy I thought she would end up with, but he seems really nice and DeAnna seems to be in love. Hope it lasts!

*Madonna released an exclusive statement to People Magazine, saying she's not getting a divorce and she's not romantically involved with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod's wife, Cynthia isn't buying it--she's filing for divorce today, saying her hubby's alleged affair with Madonna was the final straw!

*Will Smith ruled the weekend box office. His new movie, Hancock took in $66 million over the weekend with a 5-day total of $107 million. It's Will's 5th movie to open at #1 over the July 4th weekend. I saw Hancock and I have a mixed reaction. I felt like I was watching two separate films. The first half was great--love the concept of a drunk, cranky superhero who does more damage than good. However, the second half got really slow and heavy with some plot points I didn't like. Overall, though, if you are a Will Smith fan I think it's worth going to see.

*Even though they haven't been born yet, the Brangelina twins were named honorary citizens of Nice, France.

*Paula Abdul's ex-boyfriend, restaurant owner J.T. Torregiani could be TV's next Bachelor. He's in talks with ABC to do the show. A reminder--tonight it's the season finale of The Bachelorette on ABC. DeAnna has to choose between Jesse, the free-spirited snowboarder or Jason, the sensitive single dad. She already revealed that the episode ends in a proposal and I think Jason is the guy.

*Angelina Jolie checked into a hospital in Nice, France. A hospital spokeswoman said the admission was a "pre-planned rest period" before Angelina gives birth to the twins. I will let you know as soon as I get the news about the birth of the twins.

*Is Madonna hooking up with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez? That's the latest rumor, after A-Rod was spotted making several late-night solo visits to Madonna's New York City apartment. Madonna's rep said the two have the same manager and know each other, but there's nothing going on. Meanwhile, Madonna and Guy Ritchie must want to put an end to the divorce rumors because they arrived holding hands last night for dinner at an Italian restaurant near their apartment.

*Will Smith's new movie "Hancock" opens today in theaters. Industry analysts predict the movie could make $140-150 million dollars this holiday weekend (no pressure, Will!) Charlize Theron is one of the stars of "Hancock" and she said she can go up to A WEEK without showering! Yuck! Charlize said she enjoys getting dirty while camping or traveling to underdeveloped countries.

*Bon Jovi will play a free concert in New York's Central Park on July 12. How packed do you think that will be?

*Amid divorce reports, Guy Ritchie arrived in New York City last night to be with Madonna. Sources are saying he's planning on throwing her an elaborate 50th birthday party in August. Maybe they'll try to work things out even though Madonna recently met with Paul McCartney's divorce attorney.

*Grammy-winning producer Rodney Jerkins, who is from South Jersey, is working with Britney Spears on new songs for her next album. He wants to reinvent Brit and that could be a good thing!

*Jessica Simpson met Tony Romo's parents at an Olive Garden in Wisconsin. She enjoyed wine with her three-cheese ziti and complimented the chefs. Love the Olive Garden breadsticks!

*Molly Ringwald said she would be up for doing a Sixteen Candles sequel, but writer-director John Hughes doesn't seem to be interested.
