*Harry Potter news: The new movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will open in theaters 2 days early--Wednesday, July 11 instead of Friday, July 13. A Harry Potter theme park is scheduled to open at the Universal Orlando Resort in late 2009. The "theme park within a theme park" will be called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and will include rides, attractions and restaurants

*Paris Hilton's cell mate has been picked and jail officials say she's the perfect match for Paris. The inmate is doing time for reckless driving and officials believe she won't try to cash in on Paris' stay. Meanwhile, Paris may be putting on a brave face but sources say she is distressed about her upcoming jail time. They say she hasn't been eating and breaks down crying a lot.

*John Travolta and Kelly Preston want a third child. They said they're going to start trying for a baby at the end of the summer. Kelly's biological clock is ticking!

*Lindsay Lohan's friends say she likes rehab so far. Well, she's only been there one day so give it time! The producers of Lindsay's next movie said they will delay filming until Lindsay completes her stint in rehab.

*American Idol runner-up Blake Lewis said his album should be out by Thanksgiving. Why wasn't previous Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee at the season finale this year? Because she wasn't invited. Kat said she called and tried to get on the show, but was turned down even though other Idol alumni were invited. I wonder why??!!

*TV notes for tonight: It's the debut of Pirate Master on CBS from Survivor creator Mark Burnett. The contestants spend 33 days traveling the Caribbean in search of hidden treasure totaling $1 million. On the USA network, it's part one of the miniseries The Starter Wife starring Debra Messing

*Lindsay Lohan is back in rehab. She checked in yesterday, a few days after being arrested for D.U.I. Lindsay is expected to stay for a minimum of 30 days.

*Speaking of rehab, Britney Spears posted a message to her fans on her official website to explain some of the things she has been faced with recently. Brit said she "hit rock bottom" while in rehab and has since cut a lot of people out of her life.

*Why is Angelina Jolie so skinny? Her brother said it's because she takes her humanitarian work to heart and she feels guilty eating because others can't.

*Keira Knightley as Princess Di? She may star as Princess Diana in a new film based on the controversial book Diana and the Paparazzi

*American Idol Jordin Sparks said she'll start working on her album in the next few days. I knew this was coming--runner-up Blake Lewis said he's glad he didn't win because of contractual issues. That's what they all say!

*Now that American Idol's season is over, here's a show for you to watch: tonight at 8:00 on ABC, it's the debut of The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator? There's a South Jersey connection. The Tina Turner impersonator, Cookie Watkins is featured in Legends in Concert, which returns to Resorts Atlantic City June 2-30. *More trouble for party girl Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay was arrested for driving under the influence early Saturday in Los Angeles and police found cocaine in her car. That didn't stop her from partying the rest of Memorial Day weekend. Reports say Lindsay may be heading back to rehab as early as today. I hope this girl gets the help she needs--she's not even 21 yet!

*Rosie O'Donnell is off The View. After the big fight last week with Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Rosie asked ABC to let her out of her contract a few weeks early and executives agreed. Elisabeth tried to reach out to Rosie but she wouldn't take her call and Rosie said she probably won't speak with Elisabeth ever again.

*Thing are heating up again between Jessica Simpson and John Mayer. A report says John spent the night Sunday in Jessica's New York hotel room (Ohh la la!)

*Sources say Justin Timberlake is in love with Jessica Biel. They have been trying to keep their relationship low key, but friends of the couple say things are getting serious.

*Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End ruled the weekend box office, taking in $142.1 millon, breaking the Memorial Day weekend opening record but falling far short of Spiderman 3's opening weekend numbers. Shrek the Third was the #2 movie, followed by Spiderman 3 and Bug.

*The pirates are back! Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is in theaters and movie analysts say it will break box office records over the holiday weekend.

*Michael Jackson is being paid $10 million just to show up at a 25th birthday party and he doesn't even have to sing! The party is for Prince Azim of Brunei and the guest list is impressive. In addition to Jacko, Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss are scheduled to attend.

*Would you pay $350,000 to kiss George Clooney? One guy paid that at a charity acution for his girlfriend to kiss George--on the mouth! Lucky lady!

*Paris Hilton's pre-prison movie rentals: Paris popped into a Blockbuster store the other day and rented Happy Feet and Charlotte's Web (good choices!)

*Jordin Sparks is the new American Idol after a record 74 million votes. Jordin is the youngest Idol winner ever at the age of 17. She said she got a congratulatory hug from Simon Cowell--he does have a soft side! By the way, Simon said he's quitting Idol after 10 seasons. He signed on for 4 more seasons and then he's done. Simon's suggestion for a replacement? Donald Trump. Oh please! The only way I would watch that is if Rosie O'Donnell replaces Paula Abdul.

*Things got out of control yesterday on The View as Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck went at it! They have had heated debates about the Iraq war and politics in the past but yesterday it was taken to a new level. The fighting went on for 6 minutes and it was intense. Rosie has the day off today but it's going to be awkward if she returns to the show for her final week next week. IF she returns--I have a feeling Barbara Walters may cut her loose a little early or Rosie may just say she's not coming back because she's so miserable there

*Is a new "Tom kitten" on the way? Not yet, but Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are planning on having another baby soon. I wonder if they'll hide this baby for 9 months like they did with Suri. Tom and Katie are moving into a 35 million dollar mansion next month and they're already converting one of the bedrooms into another nursery.

*There are reports that Nicole Richie is back in rehab for substance abuse and anorexia. Nicole's rep said the rumors are not true and that she was just visiting her doctor in the rehab center the other day.

*Who will win American Idol? The final two performed last night and the 2-hour season finale starts at 8:00 tonight on Fox. The judges agreed that Jordin is the better singer and Blake is the better entertainer. They both performed the original song "This Is My Now" and Simon told Jordin "You just wiped the floor with Blake with that song." Does it really matter who wins? They'll both do just fine! DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - TUESDAY, MAY 22

*It's a big week on American Idol with the final 2, Blake and Jordin performing tonight and the season finale tomorrow night night. Judge Simon Cowell said he can't make a prediction as to who will win. He says it comes down to a "great singer" and a "brilliant entertainer." I think we can figure that one out.....

*Tonight is the season finale of Dancing With the Stars--we'll find out who will be named the new champion. I kind of lost interest this season but I did see Joey Fatone's second performance last night and he was great. Although I still feel that he came into it with an edge, being a former boy band member.

*Is Nicole Kidman pregnant? Her hubby Keith Urban set the record straight and said that Nic is not pregnant, but hopefully it will happen next year.

*Jessica Simpson and John Mayer broke up last week, but they may be back together already! Sources say Jessica and John went on a date and want to work things out. Those on-again, off-again relationships rarely work out!

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - THURSDAY, MAY 17

*Melinda Doolittle was voted off American Idol last night! Simon, who predicted that Melinda would make it to the finals, put his head in his hands after Ryan Seacrest made the announcement. That means Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis are in the finals. In my opinion, Melinda was the best singer in the competition but Jordin and Blake are more marketable as pop stars. After all, the show is American Idol, not American Singer. Ones who are idolized are not always the best singers. That's my two cents!

*Looks like Paris Hilton will be doing a lot less time in prison than her 45-day sentence. One report says she'll do about half the time and a Los Angeles Sheriff's rep said Paris may serve only hours in jail due to inmate overcrowding. Only hours??? It'll take her longer than that do do her hair and makeup! Meanwhile, Barbara Walters read a statement from Paris' mom, Kathy on The View. Kathy wants young people to learn from her daughter (Note to Kathy: maybe the kids would have learned something valuable if Paris lived up to her mistakes instead of fighting the sentence and complaining about it....)

*I feel so bad for Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam on The Office. She fell down a flight of stairs at an NBC event in New York City and broke 4 bones in her back (ouch!) Jenna spent two nights in a hospital and is now resting.

*It's a sad night for me and fellow Gilmore Girls fans. The show is ending after 7 seasons and the series finale airs tonight at 8:00 on the CW Network. I'm so sad--the girls will be missed!

*Also tonight at 8:00 it's American Idol on Fox. The final 3--Blake, Melinda and Jordin--will perform 3 songs each. Do producers already know that Jordin will be this season's winner? Rumor has it that a fitness trainer, nutritionist and fashion stylist were hired for Jordin and not the other two finalists (Hmmmm....)

*Paris Hilton is distraught and traumatized over her 45-day jail sentence. Dr. Charles Sophy testified that Paris is not mentally fit to appear in court next week regarding a $10 millon slander and libel suit filed against her by actress Zeta Graff. The judge postponed the case until August.

*HBO usually lets a year or two pass between seasons of its original series, like The Sopranos. That will not be the case with Entourage this summer. The show's current season will end June 3 and the new season kicks off two weeks later on June 17.

*More than three months after Anna Nicole Smith's death, her will was filed yesterday in a Los Angeles probate court. Anna's total assets are worth $710,000 (not including the pending case against the estate of her ex-hubby, billionaire J. Howard Marshall)

*It's official--Grey's Anatomy is getting a spin-off series on ABC. Kate Walsh's character, Addison Montgomery will be shipped off to Los Angeles from Seattle Grace. The tentative series title is Private Practice.

*Congrats to new mommy Sheryl Crow! Just in time for Mother's Day, Sheryl announced on her website that she adopted a 2-week-old baby boy in the U.S. His name is Wyatt Steven, after Sheryl’s father and her little brother. She will take some time off from touring to be a full-time mom.

*More baby news: My Name is Earl star Jaime Pressly and her fiance Eric welcomed a new baby boy and named him Dezi James. Donald Trump is a grandpa--his son Donald Jr. and wife
Vanessa have a new baby girl named Kai Madison.

*Angelina Jolie is trying to stop a perfume maker from naming its latest fragrance Shiloh (the name of her daughter with Brad Pitt.) The owner of the company said she wants to use the name because it's a Hebrew word meaning gift. Angelina says a product bearing the same name as her daughter will be damaging to baby Shiloh.

*Eddie Murphy will star in a movie version of the classic TV show Fantasy Island. He will play multiple roles. I wonder if Eddie will say "da plane, boss, da plane!"

*It's a big week on TV for season finales and show finales. Tonight it's the final episode of The King of Queens tonight at 9:00 on CBS and tomorrow night it is the final episode of my favorite show, Gilmore Girls. I'm gearing myself up for tomorrow night--pass the tissues!

*As expected, Spiderman 3 ruled the weekend box office again, taking in another $60 million. Look for Spidey to take a fall this weekend because Shrek The Third is hitting theaters.

*Jennifer Lopez reportedly received death threats! Jennifer hired extra security guards after she received death threats for wearing fur.

*Check out the cover of the new issue of Us Weekly Magzine. Ricki Lake graces the cover and she is half the person she used to be--literally! Ricky went from 260 pounds in her "Hairspray" days to about 125 pounds now. What a transformation! She's wearing a red bathing suit on the cover--you go, girl!

*The creators of American Idol are looking to start a spin-off show. They want to find the next American band. They are looking for any kind of music and you can be any age. It will kick-off late summer or early fall

*Bobby Brown is asking for a judge to reconsider his divorce to Whitney Houston. Bobby wants spousal and child support and a change in the custody of their daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
He also said he's been homeless at times since the split. Bobby and Whitney have a court date in June.

*Speaking of people with legal issues, I'm sure you know by now that Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating probation. Now L.A. County officials are saying that Paris will probably only spend 3 weeks or less in the slammer (Hmmmm, the sentence keeps getting shorter and shorter.....pretty soon it'll be an overnight stay!)

*There's a rumor that Johnny Depp is finally ready to marry the mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis. The two have been together for 8 years.

*TV reminder: It's the season finale of Survivor: Fiji Sunday night at 8:00 on CBS, followed by the live reunion show. I always enjoy the reunion show--seeing the contestants with their hair done, wearing makeup and a few pounds heavier. Of course host Jeff Probst always looks the same--adorable with those dimples...

*Bye, bye Lakisha! The bottom 2 on American Idol last night were Blake and Lakisha and Lakisha got the boot. We're down to the final 3--Blake, Melinda and Jordin. I know a lot of people are disappointed with this season but I still like it. I'm going to be bored on Tuesday and Wednesday nights when the season ends. By the way, I was surprised to find out that Wednesday night's results show gets higher ratings than Tuesday night's show. Evidently people enjoy seeing young people's dreams being crushed! She hired famous DUI defense lawyer Richard Hutton to try to get her out of going to jail (That's gonna be a BIG legal bill but luckily she's a Hilton and can afford it...)

*Eva Longoria and Tony Parker will cut their honeymoon short after their July 7 wedding in Paris because Tony wants to promote his rap album. Eva met with her future mother-in-law in Paris the other day to do some wedding planning.

*Eva's Desperate Housewives co-star Felicity Huffman admitted that she was "a little drunk" while filming the movie Georgia Rule. Can't wait to see that! The movie opens in theaters tomorrow and co-stars Lindsay Lohan

*Britney Spears went on a baby boutique spending binge. It was nice of her to take time out from practicing lip-synching! Brit dropped $1,000 on baby clothes and toys for sons Sean Preston and Jayden James in less than 10 minutes. She purchased a $600 toy plane, two "Adorable Idol" baby t-shirts and two "Don't ya wish your mommy was hot like mine?" tees. How cute (and expensive!)

*Ty Pennington, the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, was arrested over the weekend in Los Angeles for allegedly driving drunk. A court date was set for June 4. Ty said this was his wake-up call and apologized to his fans, ABC and his design team for his lapse in judgement

*Paris Hilton appealed her 45-day prison sentence for violating probation but if the appeal is not granted, she could break out of jail a little early--6 days early if she's on her best behavior.

*Congratulations to Kevin Costner and his wife Christine--they have a new baby boy named Cayden Wyatt (cute name!)

*A Los Angeles judge has suspended David Hasselhoff's right to visit his 2 daughters in the wake of a videtape showing The Hoff drunk. He's only allowed to talk to them on the phone. On May 21, the judge will hold a hearing on the videotape and how it will affect Hasselhoff's long-term visitation rights.

*The final four wil perform tonight on American Idol--Jordin, Blake, Melinda and Lakisha. Also tonight, we'll find out who's getting the boot on Dancing With The Stars. Nelly Furtado will perform on the DWTS results show at 9PM on ABC.

*Sheryl Crow could be a new mom in the near future. Sources say Sheryl is in the process of adopting a baby.

*A few chick flicks are out on DVD today--Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore in Music & Lyrics (good one!) Because I Said So starring Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton and Jennifer Garner in Catch & Release.

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - MONDAY, MAY 7

*Paris is going to prison! A Los Angeles County judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license. Paris has to report to the county jail on June 5. She called the sentence "both cruel and unwarranted" and added "I don't deserve this." Paris won't be able to use her cell phone or Blackberry while in prison (the horror!!! That girl doesn't go 5 minutes without being on the phone.) The bad news didn't stop Paris from shopping. She engaged in major retail therapy Saturday with her mom Kathy in Beverly Hills.

*Spiderman shatters the weekend box office! Spiderman 3 took in $148 million in 3 days, beating the previous record holder--Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I saw Spiderman 3 and loved it! I thought it was better than Spiderman 2 and as good as--if not better than the first movie. Good news--Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst both said they would be willing to do Spiderman 4 (for the right paycheck!)

*It was the running of the Kentucky Derby Saturday and Larry Birkhead was one of the most sought-after celebrities there. Larry beamed when talking about baby Dannielynn and said he decorated her nursery by himself. It's pink with lots of Disney characters (Ahhhhh!)

*WAYV welcomes Kelly Clarkson to the Wachovia Center in Philly on August 14. Tickets go on sale this Saturday.

*Spiderman 3 opens today in theaters! Midnight shows sold out across the country and the movie is already setting box office record overseas. I am going to see it this weekend so I'll give you my review Monday. Drew Barrymore's movie Lucky You , which is about professional poker players also opens today.

*Paris Hilton should find out today if she's going to jail. Los Angeles prosecutors want Paris to spend 45 days in jail for violating probation. She's scheduled to appear in court this morning. Hopefully Paris can wear a pink jumpsuit if she has to do time!

*Time Magazine released its annual list of the 100 most influential people who shape the world. The list is a mix of celebrities, politicians and other newsmakers from 27 countries. Those who made the list include Rosie O'Donnell, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Justin Timberlake and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. President Bush did not make the list!

*Cute couple alert: The romance between former Melrose Place co-stars Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner is heating up. At first they said they were just friends, but they were cuddling in a golf cart and holding hands at a celebrity golf tournament recently. (Ahhhhh!)

*Britney Spears is so talented--she can lip-synch and chew gum at the same time. Britney has been lip-synching 15 minute sets on her mini-tour and she doesn't even bother to get rid of her gum!

*We're down to the final four on American Idol after Phil and Chris were sent home last night. One of these four will be the American Idol--Blake, Jordin, Lakisha or Melinda. I feel kind of bad for Idol reject Sanjaya. He didn't get a hometown welcome in Federal Way, Washington. Sanjaya is not getting a parade or a key to the city. Poor guy!

*TV Alert: Tonight at 9PM on ABC, it's a 2-hour new episode of Grey's Anatomy. It sets the stage for a spin-off featuring the character Dr. Addison Montgomery (Dr. McDreamy's ex-wife.)

*Rosie O'Donnell will not be bullying this particular person anymore (and it's not Donald Trump.) Rosie said she will not engage in a war of words with her pregnant View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck--for the benefit of the Hasselbaby. Rosie said she's going to back down and keep quiet from now on when it comes to President Bush and the Iraq war (I'll believe it when I hear it!

*Britney's comeback rolls on! Britney Spears did a second show last night on her mini-tour. This time it was even shorter--a 12-minute appearance at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. She was billed as the band "M & M's" and I did some research about the name - Britney said it means "Mom and Ms." (the Ms. since she's single.) Brit is planning several more shows this week.

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - WEDNESDAY, MAY 2

*Britney is back! Britney launched her on-stage comeback last night at the House of Blues in San Diego, her first public performance in nearly 3 years. Britney lip-synched 5 songs with the set lasting about 16 minutes. Fans paid $125 for that?? Well, at least Britney seems to be on the right track. She's back in shape and working on her career.

*Former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey's estranged wife Dina appeared yesterday on Oprah's show to promote her new book "Silent Partner: A Memoir of My Marriage" which is now in stores. She painted Jim as a self-absorbed con artist and actor who married for political gain. She insisted that she didn't know he was gay and said the wife is always the last to know.

*Alec Baldwin has turned to Dr. Phil for help following his voicemail rant to his 11-year-old daughter. The two have been in contact recently and Dr. Phil said he would like to meet with both Alec and Kim Basinger for ex-couple counseling (yeah, right, Kim will agree to that...) Alec and Kim will be in court Friday for a custody hearing.

*2 contestants will go home tonight on the American Idol results show. A shocker last night--Blake's new hair color! It took me a little while to get used to his black hair. Simon was so happy with Lakisha's performance that he kissed her on the lips! Paula only wishes Simon would kiss her like that! Ryan Seacrest announced last night that the Idol Gives Back fundraiser took in $70 million for needy kids. By the way, the Top 10 Idol finalists will kick off a tour in July and they'll be at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on September 9--get your Sanjaya fix!

*Where in the world are Larry Birkhead and baby Dannielynn? In Kentucky. They left the Bahamas on a private jet yesterday and landed in Kentucky, where they will spend a few weeks with family. How cute is Dannielynn? ADORABLE!

*Roseanne Barr has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Rosie O'Donnell on The View, but does Roseanne want the job? Yes, she does. Roseanne said she'd jump at the opportunity to take over Rosie's spot and would "stir up some real good controversy." I'll bet she would!

DIANE'S CELEBRITY DIRT - TUESDAY, MAY 1

*Another big announcement on The View and this time it doesn't involve Rosie O'Donnell. Elisabeth Hasselbeck announced yesterday that she and her hubby Tim are expecting their second child in November. I wasn't surprised because Elisabeth has been wearing loose tops and dresses lately. I'm sure Barbara Walters is freaking out--another seat to fill on The View (at least temporarily!)

*Jon Bon Jovi is the guest mentor tonight on American Idol and the contestants will sing Bon Jovi Songs. Don't expect Simon Cowell to pay attention during the show. Simon said while the contestants are singing their hearts out every Tuesday night, he's busy taunting Paula Abdul. He said he listens during the dress rehearsal when there's no audience screaming during the vocals. Remember--2 contestants are going home this week.

*Larry Birkhead is taking baby Dannielynn to the U.S. today--finally! He obtained a passport for the baby yesterday and is expected to leave on an NBC private jet this afternoon. First stop--Kentucky. Larry wants to introduce his daughter to her grandparents.

*More than 12 years after Kurt Cobain committed suicide, Courtney Love has finally decided to get rid of his belongings. She's going to sell Kurt's possessions at Christies Auction House. She said her daughter doesn't need to inhertit a giant Hefty bag full of flannel shirts
